Jay Scott Girouard

Jay Scott Girouard, 39, of Concord and formerly of Littleton, died peacefully with family and friends by his side on Wednesday, Feb 27, 2008, at home in Concord. He had been battling lung cancer for 17 months at the time of his death.
He was born April 28, 1968, in Littleton, the son of Gilles and Gail (Edson) Girouard. On Oct 2, 1999, he married Amy (Sowerby) in Exeter.
Jay worked for Simplex Grinnell of Nashua as a fire alarm system installer. He served in the U.S. Navy for 6½ years and was trained as an electronic technician. Jay served on the USS Conyngham as an ET2 and received a Navy Achievement Medal for his bravery and service during the ship fire on May 8, 1990.
He was a Desert Storm veteran. He had a love of playing hockey, golf, horseshoes, water sports and being with his family and large group of life long friends.
Jay is survived by a large family including his wife, Amy Girouard and two young children, Joshua and Allison, all of Concord; his parents, Gilles and Gail Girouard; two sisters, Michele White and Naomi Reinhard; and two nephews, Henry E White III and Michel White, all of Littleton. He has many uncles and aunts along with 13 cousins.
He was predeceased by grandparents, Phil and Rita (Dionne) Girouard; George and Elizabeth (Jackson) Edson, all of Littleton; one uncle, Yvon "Peanut" Girouard of Littleton; one aunt, Susan (Edson) Roper of Laconia; one cousin, Timothy Lloyd of Littleton.

PNSC John Schmeichel
Susan Schmeichel's husband was PNSC John Schmeichel. He died of pancreatic cancer in 2008 (not shipboard fire related). He was the fourth person in his family to die of the disease. Mark Tejchman

CHESAPEAKE - Retired U.S. Navy Chief Mark John Tejchman, 47, of the 300 block of Windlesham Drive, left for his final deployment Jan. 29, 2006, with his captain, Jesus Christ. He was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and was preceded in death by his father, Richard Kremyar. He had been a resident of Hampton Roads since 1984.
He retired from the United States Navy as a GMC after 20 years service to his country. He was a veteran of the Persian Gulf War.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Andrea Gomez Tejchman of Chesapeake; his daughters, Danielle Marie Tejchman and Lauren Marie Tejchman and his son James Walter Tejchman and his wife Tara, all of Chesapeake; his mother, Mary Tejchman Kremyar of Cleveland; his brothers, Richard Kremyar of Cleveland, Matthew Kremyar of Largo, Fla., and Christopher Kremyar of Mentor, Ohio; his granddaughter, Nevaer Lynne Tejchman of Chesapeake; and many nieces and nephews.
